Signe Persson-Melin, Firma Svenskt Tenn, teapot
The Myrten teapot was created as part of the “New Swedish Pewter” collection celebrating Svenskt Tenn’s 80-year anniversary in 2004. As one of ten female Swedish designers ceramist Signe Persson-Melin was asked to create a series of pieces to honour Svenskt Tenn’s founder Estrid Ericsson. The teapot has an imprint of myrtle that beautifully reflects light and a shape reminiscent of Persson-Melins characteristic ceramic teapots.
Knob on lid is in pewter. The Myrten teapot currently available at Svenskt Tenn has a wood knob. An early version.
